How Much Does Botox Cost?

Are you asking yourself "how much does botox cost?

If you're considering the cost of botox treatements so that you can achieve a more youthful appearance, it's crucial to conisder everything related to the cost of botox injections - from the actual treatment to the frequency of treatments.

The cost of Botox can vary for many reasons, whether it be the geographic location of the clinic you patronize, the skill level of the practitioner, or where and how much Botox is utilized at the time of your appointment.

Obviously, in the case of any invasive procedure, minimal though it may be, frugality isn't as important as employing a highly-skilled practitioner based at a reputable institution. Your health and the quality of the work done absolutely trump pinching pennies any day of the week.

That said, just because you find the most expensive doctor doesn't mean he or she is the most qualified, or has the best track record. Do your homework or you may regret the results of the treatment.

The average cost of Botox treatements

The average cost of Botox is about $375 per injection, or $15 per unit. The more delicate areas around the eyes alone can cost $400 to $800 and the broad area of the forehead will run you over a grand.

Frequency adds to the cost of Botox treatements

Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures of late and can be expensive, even if you only have it done one time. The downside is that the effects of Botox wear off within four to six months after you get it. So you know that $2000 or $3000 you spent on your full face botox...you'll have to spend that mount 2-3 time per year!

Cost of addition

Like most cosmetic surgeries that yield a successful result, it can become psychologically addictive. You may get hooked into forking out the dough two or three times annually until you decide you'd rather grow old gracefully. That can really add up when you consider that course, the degree of aging on the treated area can also add to the expense.

So, if you get your forehead, the area between your brows, the bridge of your nose, and your crow's feet injected with Botox, you will pay several thousand dollars for one session alone. Remember, you may need two or three sessions a year to look refreshed.

The cost of Botox mishaps (eek)

Another cost factor you should consider is treating the negative and potentially dangerous side effects of Botox. Some of these include chronic headaches, muscle weakness and atrophy, droopy eyelids, asymmetry, facial pain, and loss of facial expression. Some of these may be temporary or permanent. Some can be treated and others must be endured. Even more alarming is that Botox can "travel" from the injection site to other areas of your body causing major damage.

As always, there are risks with any cosmetic procedure and you must weigh those against the benefits before you decide if Botox is right for you.
